Republican Jessica Clayton, Current Oklahoma County Manager, files for Oklahoma County Commissioner

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Jessica Clayton, current Oklahoma County Manager, announces her candidacy for Oklahoma County Commissioner, District 3.

Clayton currently serves as the county’s first-ever County Manager, where she has already delivered results through increased transparency and oversight in government operations, improved efficiency to protect taxpayer funds, and strengthened governance to meet the needs of a growing community. She has prioritized efficiency while overseeing more than $50 million in department budgets and managed over $160 million in state and federal grants, while leading county operations and ensuring compliance with state laws to achieve departmental and county goals.

Before becoming County Manager, Clayton served as Chief Deputy County Commissioner for District 2 under County Commissioner Brian Maughan. In that role, she gained firsthand experience in county governance, the complexities of local leadership, and maintaining a high standard of service delivery for Oklahoma County residents.

“My years of experience in county government, along with serving as President and CEO of Daily Living Centers and holding executive positions at Mercy Health Foundation, First United, and FirstBank, have prepared me for the challenges Oklahoma County is facing,” Clayton said. “I am focused on restoring trust with our residents, committed to positive change, and continuing my hard work to deliver for the good people of Oklahoma County District 3.”

Clayton’s extensive management and leadership experience in both the private and public sectors prepares her to deliver the service Oklahoma County residents deserve on Day One.

“The people of Oklahoma County District 3 deserve a public servant who understands she is accountable to the people in everything she does—from the delivery of local services to the professionalism taxpayers expect of us,” Clayton said.

Born and raised in northwest Oklahoma City, Clayton and her husband, Tim, live in Edmond, where they own two businesses. They have three children: Hannah, who also works at Oklahoma County, and Elijah and Samuel, who attend Edmond Public Schools. Tim, Jessica, her sister, and her parents are all graduates of the University of Central Oklahoma. Clayton devotes significant time to community service, including serving as an Honorary Commander at Tinker Air Force Base since 2017. In that role, she was selected to represent Oklahoma at the 2024 National Security Forum. She is a strong advocate for seniors and adults with disabilities and values her faith, time with family, and caring for their many rescue animals.

The Republican primary election is June 16, 2026.
